Gold lacquer ground; decoration in gold, silver and coloured hiramaki-e and takamaki-e; compartments and risers gold nashiji; shoulders and rims gold lacquer; signed in gold hiramaki-e on the base Yoyusai saku [made by Yoyusai]
On each side six ingeniously stylised roundels each depicting one of the twelve Zodiac animals
