Decorated in iron-red, yellow, blue, green and black enamels with Moso finding bamboo shoots in the snow, slight glaze chip to foot, pierced silver cover

Lot Essay

Moso (Mengzong) lived in the third century. On a winter day, his mother expressed an urge for a stewed bamboo shoots. Knowing that these did not grow in the depth of the winter, he still went to the field to try to please his mother and he is here depicted discovering bamboo shoots bursting from snow.
