A RARE ARITA DISH WITH V.O.C. MONOGRAM
Edo Period (Late 17th century)
Decorated in underglaze blue with sprays of finger citrum, peaches and leaves, the centre and the base bearing the monogram V.O.C. [Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie] within a roundel, the reverse with leafy branches of peaches
12¾in. (32.4cm.) diam.
