Lot Essay

The above brooch was made by Carrington & Co. by Royal request in association with the last British Royal visit to Paris before the Second World War broke out. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor were living in Paris and invited King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to a dinner at the British Embassy in Paris in 1938 where it is likely that the brooch was presented. It has come by descent to the present owner.
