probably German, painted with a bucolic scene of a young man visiting his sweetheart, he standing on stilts to reach the window of a thatched cottage, another woman below him pulling at his pole, two ox pulling a cart in the foreground, circa 1860 -- 19cm. x 15.5cm., gilt-wood frame (minor damage to frame)
