Some of the letters, written by royal servants, have pictorial letterheads from Buckingham Palace, Osborne House and Balmoral Castle; one dated June 12th 1851 (from Buckingham Palace) talks of visiting the Great Exhibition. Another letter, dated May 1st 1871 (from Osborne House) from Lieutenant Pickard talks of enclosing a photograph of Prince Arthur from the prince himself (the photograph is included in this lot).
