She was awarded First Gold Medal at the 1979 and 1980 Wildlife Artist International Exhibition in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has since had numerous international exhibitions. She is a keen conservationist and campaigns tirelessly to support the threatened species to which she owes so much of her success. Kim Brooks is a member of the Wildlife Art Society. The World Wildlife Museum in California purchased two of her paintings which are on permanent display. She approaches her work with modesty and apparent ease, producing spectacular, detailed paintings of exotic and endangered species.
