Lot Essay

The images are examples of gelatin-silver prints produced by early Kodak cameras. The 6cm. diameter images were made using an original Kodak, introduced in 1888; the 6.5cm. images from a No. 1 Kodak, and the 9cm. images from a No. 2 Kodak. The No. 1 and No. 2 Kodaks were both in production from 1889, and Nadar was the official representative in France for the Eastman Kodak Company.
