12 series of plates in one volume, oblong 4° (212 x 278mm). 36 hand-coloured aquatint plates heightened in gum arabic, comprising: Shooting Scraps, 1850; Steeplechase Scraps, 1850; Hunting Scraps, 1861; Indian Sporting Scraps, 1850; Coursing Scraps, 1850; Coaching Scraps, 1854; Racing Scraps, 1850; and Yachting Scraps, 1850, each with 4 plates by J. Harris, the plates in Coaching Scraps and Yachting Scraps after W.J. Shayer and W.A. Knell, the rest after Henry Alken. Together with Fishing Scraps, 1850; Shooting Scraps, 1850; Stag-Hunting Scraps, 1850; and Deer-Stalking Scraps, 1850, each with one plate by Harris after Alken. (A few plates a little spotted.) 19th-century calf gilt, morocco label on front pastedown reading 'ACKERMANN'S SPORTING SCRAPS 1850-1861,' gilt edges (covers detached, spine lacking.)
