An unusual 1¼-inch (3.1cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial globe, possibly originally from an orrery, unsigned, made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores with text in English, the equatorial and ecliptic graduated but unnumbered, the Meridian of Greenwich ungraduated, the continents delicately hand-outlined in green, red, orange and yellow and showing some rivers and country names, Australia labelled as such, Tasmania labelled Van Diemens L., Antarctica with no coastline, the South Shetlands shown (crazing to original varnish), with steel axis pins in a turned fruitwood case with domed lid -- 2in. (5.1cm.) high
