The "Simple Sohlberg", Sweden, c.1880
A 10-inch (25.4cm.) diameter glass celestial sphere, unsigned, with the equatorial painted on the outside of the sphere and graduated 1-24, the ecliptic ungraduated but with sigils for the houses of the Zodiac, with some unlabelled stars painted on also (some rubbed off), the interior with a glass rod with dark-blue coloured bulge to represent the earth at the middle, originally filled to half way with blue-coloured water, held within a stamped brass meridian circle, graduated in two quadrants, supported on a cast iron semi-circular support on a triform pillar and tripod stand, two of the feet with levelling screw adjustment -- 235/8in. (60cm.) high

According to the vendor, these pieces were manufactured in Sweden in the 1880's. They appear to be a cheaper alternative to the larger and more costly "Grand Sohlberg", possibly intended for school use.
