Provenance

Given by the artist to Roy Oldham in 1965 to raise money for the Longdendale Labour Party Clubhouse, from whom purchased by the present owner in July 1971.

Lawrence Ives recalls Lowry's remarks about this drawing,
'I used to see them in Stalybridge. Isn't she a little woman? That's what happens when you get married, Sir, but you have got one of my best!'
