signed and numbered 'Renoir 15/20' (lower right), stamped with the foundry mark 'C. Valsuani cire perdue' (on the bottom)
bronze with a black patina
23 7/8 x 17 in. (60.6 x 43.2 cm.)
Conceived in 1918 by Renoir and produced in plaster with the collaboration of the sculptor Louis Morel. Cast in an edition of twenty in 1950 by Renou et Colle, Paris.
Provenance
Galerie Urban, Paris, from whom purchased by George Gregson in 1964.
