The original plaster version conceived circa 1890, this bronze version cast circa 1965 by the Musée Rodin.

Lot Essay

Sold with a certificate from Cecile Goldscheider dated Paris, le 20 novembre 1969.

Rodin included this figure in The Gates of Hell where it is to be found on the lower right side of the lintel.
