CARL GUSTAV JUNG (1875-1961)
One-page typed letter, signed 'C.G. Jung', from Seestrasse 228, Zürich, 1 February 1949, 4°, to Mr P.M. Shankland, responding to a request to turn his Essays on Contemporary Events into a film. He decides that he should 'give my little book to a number of better-class writers that are interested in the film...start a competition among them in order to see what kind of dramatic phantasies they develop while reading the Essays. My mind doesn't function along these modern ways, but I could imagine that a fertile and dramatising mind could get the necessary kick out of my peculiar way of looking at things' (three filing holes along left margin, slight rust-stain to upper left corner).
