PELHAM GRENVILLE WODEHOUSE (1881-1975)
One-page typed letter, signed 'P.G. Wodehouse', from Remsenburg, New York, 5 April 1964, 8°, to Mr Christopherson, congratulating him on his new job 'it is a good thing to work on a paper if you want to write fiction. I see Threepwood let you down in the Grand National. Bad luck!', and going on to talk of two forthcoming novels [Biffen's Millions (New York, July 1964) and The Brinkmanship of Galahad Threepwood (published in Britain as Galahad at Blandings)]. He ends by complaining he can not leave his dogs to come to England as they would have to go into quarantine, 'It's what Berite [sic] would call an impasse' (laminated).
Special notice
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
Lot Essay
An amusing letter, making several references to characters in his novels, including Bertie Wooster.
