ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT LEAVES from a Book of Hours, France, on vellum, c.1460, each 85 x 79mm., each with fourteen lines of brown/black text; leaf one with elaborate two-line illuminated letter 'D' on a ground of burnished gold, with panel border to the left of foliate penwork design terminating in sprays of green and gold leaves and blue trefoils on hairline tendrils, rubrics in red; leaf two with a similarly decorated border to the right side, one two-line illuminated letter 'D' and two one-line illuminated initials 'D' and 'R' in red, blue and gold with white penwork decoration, rubrics in red; leaf three with four one-line initials, 'S', 'Q', 'S' and 'Q' in gold with alternate red and blue backgrounds decorated with white penwork, mounted and framed separately (unexamined out of frame, glass to leaf two cracked).
