A Victorian Surgeon's Shoulderbelt
A fine and extremely rare black leather pouchbelt of the pattern worn by surgeons attached to infantry battalions circa 1870, with richly-gilt buckle and slide of RAMC style, and superb breast-star mounted with VR cypher within the Garter Motto on burnished gilt ground, together with its black leather pouch, the flap bearing a small gilt VR cypher, the box containing a series of folding pockets for writing-materials
