These epaulettes were worn by Lieutenant (later Captain) Count Franco Corsi di Bosnasco, who served with the 5th Regiment Voloire in the Italian contingent in Russia during WW2, and died there as a Prisoner of War in 1943. The ceremonial uniform with which these epaulettes would have been worn was sold as Lot 195 in Spink's sale of Medals & Militaria No. 1146 in April 2000.
