Lieutenant-Colonel Alfred Osmond Geoghegan was born in 1856 and entered the Army as a Surgeon, afterwards Surgeon Captain in 1880. Advanced to Surgeon Major in 1892, he attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1901 and retired in 1907.
