James Robert Ralston Ainslie served in the Great War as a Corporal in the 1st City of London Yeomanry. Service in the Royal Household followed, and he was awarded the R.V.M. on 1.1.1941 in his capacity as Steward at Buckingham Palace. He died in 1981.
