Emma, standing to the right and Lorna Bagnell, seated, were the daughters of a Yorkshire family who made their fortune in iron. Lorna married a solicitor, George Lynn and Emma married Charles Edward Keyser of Aldermaston Court, where she lived until her death in 1937. The Bagnell family was declared bankrupt circa 1890, so the portrait and the furniture went to Aldermaston with Emma, where it stayed in the Keyser family until the present day.
