TWO SÈVRES SEAUX À LIQUEURS OVALES
1770 and 1773, both with blue interlaced L marks, the first enclosing a dot and flanked by date letter r and painter's mark of Buteux, incised cursive P with a flourish and 3 the second enclosing date letter u, painter's mark for Gérard, gilder's IN for Chauvaux, incised cl and script gc
Each of conventional shaped oval form with blue and gilt scroll and shell handles, the interiors each with a support to take a pierced divider, the first painted with musical trophies within blue and gilt feuilles-de-choux cartouches suspending garlands of flowers and with bouquets beneath the handles between gilt dentil, blue line and gilt dash rims, the second with loose bouquets and flower-sprays within similar cartouches between gilt line rims, (chipping to interior supports, first with slight firing crack from rim, second with extended firing crack from rim to one side towards the base)
