A VENETIAN MOULD-BLOWN LATTICINIO EWER
Late 16th Century
In vetro a retorti with spiralling bands of alternate gauze cable and threads, the tapering oviform body moulded in relief with pairs of opposing dragons, the shoulder with a band of gadroons, the slender neck with everted trefoil folded and ribbed rim, the scroll handle enclosing opaque gauze threads and the lower terminal applied with a prunt moulded with a classical head, supported on a cushion knop above a conical foot with upturned folded rim, (minute chip to underside of footrim)
