Bologna: Alessandro Benaccio, 1572.
4° (195 x 146mm). Woodcut printer's device on title, historiated initials, folding engraved plate of a naval battle formation. (Light spotting, plate lightly dampstained, tiny marginal tear in first two leaves.) Early limp vellum, leather spine label. Provenance: Giuseppe Martini, pencilled inscription.
A rare, anonymous tract celebrating the victory of the Venetians at the Battle of Lepanto, drawing parallels between it and the battle between Caesar Augustus and Mark Anthony. It lists over 200 men who took part in the battle. Not in Melzi; Göllner (1434) lists an edition printed in 1571 by the same printer.
