A large painted grey pottery globular jar
Han Dynasty
with flaring neck and vertical foot, decorated in black, white, red, and blue pigments, with central band reserved with a tiger chasing a galloping horse amidst foaming waves, all below a further band of foaming wave motifs, taotie mask ring handles moulded to the shoulders -- 17¼in. (43.7cms) high, (pigments chiped, old wear).
