A group of four painted red pottery models of equestrians with detachable heads
Ming Dynasty
the caparisoned horses stand four square on rectangular bases with long flowing mane and tails, heads turned slightly to one side with ears back and mouths open, the riders seated in a variety of posses with their arms raised before them, wearing hats and flared tunics buttoned to the neck over wide leg trousers, areas of white, black, red, green and blue pigments remaining -- 14in. (35.5cms) high, (loses and surface wear).
