3 parts in one volume, 2° (344 x 198mm). Three letterpress section titles. Engraved general title, 4 folding maps, 102 plans and views on 74 leaves (21 double-page, 50 folding). (Outer margin of one plate slightly shaved into image area, the folding view of Danzig neatly repaired.) Mid-18th-century English diced russia, covers tooled in gilt and blind, with central gilt lozenge made up from small tools, gilt cornerpieces to outer gilt-fillet and blind roll-tool border, spine in seven compartments with raised bands, lettered in one, the others with repeat pattern built up from small tools (repairs to spine, joints and corners, joints slightly split).
A fine clean copy in an unusual binding for this work: the design, particularly the central lozenge, is reminiscent of the work of John Brindley. (Cf. Maggs 1212 item 107 for a similar central lozenge).
