2 parts in one volume, 4° (232 x 171mm). Engraved vignette title to both parts, 64 engraved maps including one double-page, woodcut diagrams, head- and tail-pieces, and ornamental initials. (Browned, light marginal dampstain in a few leaves.) 18th-century calf, single gilt tool in spine compartments (slightly worn at extremities, neat repairs at spine and one corner). Provenance: inscription on title and small wax seal; G. Nodin; A.G. Brown, A.W. Brown, 1869 and J.W. Brown, 1928, inscriptions on front pastedown.

First edition of Giovanni Magnini's translation of the Geographia, with a newly-engraved set of maps. The double-page world map is a smaller version of Rumbold Mercator's which appeared ten years earlier; it later was used at Arnhem and Amsterdam up to 1642 (Shirley 201-204, later issues).
