VERY RARE "COMPLETE NATURAL HISTORY OF THE BIRDS OF GERMANY" (Zimmer). Second edition, greatly revised and expanded, first issue of vol.I with Gerhard Fleischer title. This work is based on the author's earlier Naturgeschichte der Land- und Wasser-Vögel des nördlichen Deutschlands und angränzender Länder, however it is considered by many to be a separate publication. The text covers the same ground, but in much greater detail, and the number of plates has more than doubled. The work was continued by Johann Friedrich Naumann, after his father's death in 1826, and upon his own death in 1857, the supplement was completed by Johann Heinrich Blasius, August Carl Eduard Baldamus and J.H.C.
