JOHN LENNON, YOKO ONO AND OTHERS SIGNED NECKTIE
A red and orange print silk tie worn by TV talk show host Dick Cavett on the memorable night when John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Shirley MacLaine appeared on his program. After taping, Cavett took off the tie, signed the interior lining in black felt-tip ink as did John, Yoko and Shirley, then gave it to a young girl in the audience who has now consigned it to Christie's almost thirty years later. As was typical for Lennon, his appearance on Cavett's show that night became controversial because he openly discussed his progressive social and political views.
