MARILYN MONROE, CARY GRANT, CECIL B. DEMILLE AND OTHERS SIGNED AUTOGRAPH BOOK
1954
A small autograph book that a young girl named Melissa Eisner took to the Twentieth Century Fox lot on August 26, 1954 where she obtained the signatures of employees working there that special summer day including Cary Grant, Cecil B. de Mille, Danny Kaye, Barbara Hale, Cesar Romero, Gilbert Roland, Ethel Merman and Mitzi Gaynor among others. But the one star's autograph that Miss Eisner most vividly remembers getting was that of Marilyn Monroe who wrote To Melissa Love & Kisses Marilyn Monroe -- not because she liked the sex goddess, but because she was a huge Joe DiMaggio fan. The youngster asked Marilyn if Joe was on the lot that day, and the actress, who was working on the film, "There's No Business Like Show Business," just laughed and said, "No, Joe's not here today!"
