MARLENE DIETRICH SIGNATURE ON ORIGINAL HOLLYWOOD CANTEEN LETTERHEAD
A piece of the original Hollywood Canteen letterhead with all the officer's names printed on the left-side margin including Bette Davis-President, John Garfield-2nd Vice Pres. and Bob Hope-Hon. Chairman among other notables who founded this now legendary restaurant and club created for servicemen in the 1940s. Autographed by seven unknown people plus the very-known Marlene Dietrich whose signature appears in black fountain-pen ink, this piece evokes the Golden Era of Hollywood when many stars would frequent the same Los Angeles hot spot on any given night of the week. Consigned by one of those servicemen who went to the Canteen in its heyday, this stationery is somewhat yellowed and has been glued to a scrapbook page, but overall is still intact. Also included is a reprinted black and white photograph of our consignor standing next to John Garfield on Cahuenga Boulevard where the club was located.
11 x 8 1/2 inches
