ORIGINAL LOBBY ART FROM "THE MUMMY" AND "A BILL OF DIVORCEMENT"
Universal and RKO, 1932
An original gouache on board painting of the classic horror film starring Boris Karloff. Colorful and vibrant in design, this piece has an inventive three-dimensional effect on Karloff's "Mummy" face created by applying layers of cardboard that have been "cut-out" in a puzzle-like fashion to portray depth. Text around the borders reads It comes to life! To find his lost love! Boris Karloff (Frankenstein) The Uncanny in "The Mummy" with Zita Johann-David Manners-Edward Van Sloan-Arthur Byron. On the reverse side is a painting for the George Cukor-directed film starring John Barrymore and Billie Burke titled "A Bill of Divorcement."
