Lot Essay

This type of horse is similar to those found at the burial place of Yangjiawan near Xianyang in the Shaanxi Province and are exhibited in the Xianyang Municipal Museum. A selection was exhibited in Zürich, Kunstschätze aus China, 1981 and Brussels, Tresors d'Art de la Chine, 1982, Catalogues, no. 28 and pl. 108.
The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of the ASA thermoluminescence test (Francine Maurer, France), reference number 25.10.35 - TL 203.694.
