An archaic bronze tripod vessel and cover, ding
Spring and Autumn period
The globular body supported on three sturdy legs headed by taotie masks, the body cast in low relief with two concentric bands containing a diaper pattern divided by a raised beaded band, with two rectangular loop handles to either sides, the domed cover with three raised ring finials decorated with four similarly cast concentric bands, the bronze with a reddish-brown and olive patina
