A Dutch silver candle snuffer and stand
Maker's mark on stand of Bernardus Blencke, Groningen, 1741/1742, marks on the snuffer worn
The stand on incurved shaped square pedestal raised on four foliate scroll feet, with reeded borders and panelled octagonal baluster shaped column, the holder rectangular with moulded base and rim, with triple-curved handle and plain curved thumbpiece, the snuffers of typical scissor form with shaped rim and reeded baluster terminal, engraved with a coat-of-arms within plumed mantling
