Of oval form, the body embossed with two bands of flowers and foliate, the hinged slightly domed cover with similar decorated band enclosing a plain oval, at the back above the hinge a silver ring attached to the cover, wavy rims

The maker's mark of Gaerben Widmers Rauwert (or Rauwerda according to Voet 1932, p.287) was hither to unknown. This toiletbox is the first recorded piece by this Frisian silversmith.
