Thomas Chippendale included a related 'Chests of Drawers' pattern in The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 1754 (pl. 84), while a related ribbon-fret appeared on his chest-of-drawers pattern (pl. 85). Chippendale also adopted this handle pattern for a related fret-enriched 'double chest of drawers' supplied around 1770 for Nostell Priory, Yorkshire (see C. Gilbert, The Life and Work of Thomas Chippendale, London, 1978, vol. II, fig. 207). A related scrolled and fret-enriched pediment featured on a tallboy sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 11 October 1990, lot 129.
