The ten-sided pointed hinged top, enclosing a tortoiseshell-banded interior with twin divisions with covers, the front centred by a silvered plaque inscribed with the initials 'JMP' within a simulated cut-cornered panel, slight cracking of ivory on exterior, restorations to stringing on cover
