Lot Essay

This elongated octagonal form, with a pierced scroll handle dates from circa 1790. A similar caddy was sold from the Robert Harman Collection of late 18th and 19th Century Tea Caddies, Sotheby's London, 12 November 1999, lot 1 (£4,370).
