A GEORGE III BURR-WALNUT, KINGWOOD AND MARQUETRY BUREAU
Probably made by a Swedish cabinet-maker
Diagonally-banded overall, the rectangular top inlaid with a ribbon-tied crossed sprig of laurel, the hinged slope centred by an urn framed by ribbon-tied laurel swags within a band of flowerhead-filled guilloches, enclosing a fitted mahogany interior with six small drawers and eight pigeon-holes flanking a central cupboard enclosing three further drawers, with three sliding wells, the sides with laurel, the frieze with ribbon-tied swags, on square tapering inlaid panelled legs and block feet
