The top crossbanded with geometric lines with a moulded edge and frieze applied with geometric rectangular boss and roundel ornament, on reeded and turned column polygonal legs joined by fluted cross stretchers centred by onion shaped finial with roundel ornament and concealed brass castors, bearing a label indistinctly Manufacturer To Her Majesty T&G Seddon No......? with written ink inscription Morgan?, the top with a split
57in. (145cm.) diameter, 29½in. (75cm.) high

Stoneleigh Abbey. The label and initials G.S. could possibly refer to the firm of George Seddon

Lot Essay

T&G Seddon were awarded Royal Warrant in 1832. Thereafter they included Manufacturers/To Her Majesty at the head of their label. The label is similar to one illustrated in The Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840 by Christopher Gilbert fig. 826 & 827, p.416 & 417
