HENSCHKE
Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone Vineyards were established in 1862 and 1920's respectively. Prue Henschke, viticulturalist, believes that these old vines provide a critical edge to the concept of distinguished vineyard site. Each wine style differs, illustrating that each vineyard has its own character. Hill of Grace is richly concentrated, Mount Edelstone is looser-knit. Both wines age beautifully and are considered as quintessential Barossa wines. Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon, once the most expensive of the trio, is sourced from the Eden Valley. Abbott's Prayer is a Cabernet Merlot blend from the Adelaide Hills. It does not have the concentration or the opulence of Hill of Grace, but the wine still retains enormous fruit purity and structure.
