"The 1961 Pétrus is consistently a perfect wine. Fully mature and more evolved than several of its neighbors (i.e. the 1961 Latour à Pomerol), it offers a huge, sweet nose of ginger, mint, exotic spices, and gobs of jammy black fruits. It's extraordinary viscosity, sweetness of fruit, and heady alcohol level as well as its remarkable hedonistic bottles of wine anybody could ever consume. The color is revealing noticeable amber/rust , and the tannin has melted away. This decadent bottle of Pomerol is at its peak of maturity; drink it over the next 10-15 years."
