NINE NEAR EASTERN CYLINDER SEALS
Circa 1950-600 B.C.
Including four Old Babylonian seals, one of haematite with a full-face god with side curls and water flowing from his shoulders, a mongoose over his left shoulder, a bull-man holding a staff, a small dwarf next to the top of the staff, and a worshipper with a goat in front of the sun god who holds a dagger in one hand, a star and crescent above; one of haematite with three figures standing before a deity with a mace; one of lapis with a worshipper and two standing figures, inscribed; and one of limonite with a suppliant goddess before a deity with a mace, inscribed with the names of the weather-god Dagan and his consort Sala; an Old Assyrian Colony Style haematite seal with a deity presenting a worshipper to a deity with a scimitar, a fish in the field; and four Neo-Assyrian seals, one of agate with a standing and a seated figure on either side of a lion, a winged solar-disk above; one of white stone with two figures on either side of a vessel on a stand; one of red stone with an archer aiming at a lion, an ibex between them; and one of green frit with an archer aiming at a winged griffin, a plant in the field, a crescent above
