Engraved with a Persian king attacking a winged lion-griffin, reaching for the beast with his right hand, wielding a scimitar in his left, the monster's wing terminating in a goat head, the Persian stepping onto a winged sphinx; with the original silver hoop, formed of a wire threaded through the stone's perforation, each end curled back on the hoop
