A Paris (Locré) jug and basin set
the baluster jug and cover with fruit finial and shaped oval bowl, both painted en grisaille with winged putti at various pursuits, above pink shells and monochrome masks issuing scrolls, between brightly coloured sprays of flowers below a chequered pattern band reserved with flowerhead panels, underglaze blue crossed arrow marks, with hinged gilt-metal mounts, the thumbpiece formed as a shell, circa 1775 (tiny chips to footrim of jug, light rubbing to gilding and some scratches and wear to the enamel of the basin interior), the jug -- 22cm. high, the basin -- 32cm. wide
