The Rest on the Flight into Egypt: Lightly Etched (B., Holl. 58; H. 216; BB. 45-E)
etching with touches of drypoint, 1645, a good, delicate impression of this rare, lightly bitten print, with some slipped printing in the foliage and the signature to the left of the Virgin, with part of a Foolscap watermark, with narrow margins, extensive additions in grey wash to the central group of figures, the hatched area to the left of Joseph, at the lower right corner, and to the tree at the Virgin's left, pale water-staining at the upper corners (mainly visible on the reverse), otherwise generally in good condition
