A ROMAN IRON AND BRONZE STOOL
Circa 2nd Century A.D.
The X-form folding stool with one long and two short seat rails, support rails across the bottom, and flat feet, with four cast bronze lion head finials at the corners of the seat rails, each with rayed mane, furrowed brow and lolling tongue, two bronze rounded finials on the interior ends of the short seat rails, and a bronze finial on the hinge of the X with a facing head of Medusa with wings in her center-parted hair
